All children need a laptop. Not a computer, but a human laptop. Moms, Dads, Grannies and Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles - someone to hold them, read to them, teach them. Loved ones who will embrace them and pass on the experience, rituals and knowledge of a hundred previous generations. Loved ones who will pass to the next generation their expectations of them, their hopes, and their dreams.

I am a Bay Area native born and raised, Oakland Technical High School Alumni, a Vietnam Era Veteran United States Army Communications Specialist, and a Certified Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Mediator. Known to most as Coach Wilson.  I have coached at Skyline H.S, Oakland High, Rudsdale Continuation HS which are all are located in Oakland, CA. I also coached at Andrew Hill HS, Silver Creek HS, both in San Jose Ca. Refereed team sports for East Bay Officials Association of Oakland CA.

Here at CFVI, I facilitate social emotional enrichment programs that assist youth and their families with empowering themselves through social development and introduce a variety of values to build their character such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skill and responsible decision making helping them to establish their brand.  Giving individual the means to learn how to think critically and communicate with others effectively.

Immediately at CORE we can impact these types of behaviors through group mediated discussions with the executive program director, students, parents and other adults.

It is my intention to significantly invest in the clients who enroll in social emotional enrichment programs on an intangible level. I have gained their trust by speaking their language and engaging them on their terms by sharing knowledge about the problems that many teenagers and students face, including poor parenting, desertion, carelessness, and most importantly, generational inconsistency in education and consistency. These truths are embarrassing to our children, and they feel they are alone which fuels negative behaviors and false non-productive relationships of loyalty to others in like predicaments.
